The British & Irish Lions is a rugby union team selected from players eligible for the national teams of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (sometimes known as the Home Nations). The Lions are a Test side and most often select players who have already played for their national team, but they can pick uncapped players who are eligible to any one of the four unions. The team currently tours every four years, with these rotating between Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in order. The most recent Test series, the 2017 series against New Zealand, was drawn 1-1 (with one match drawn).
The British & Irish Lions will tour South Africa in 2021 to play an incredible eight-match tour.
The British & Irish Lions will play three Test matches against the reigning World Champions South Africa on their epic tour in 2021 as well as five other matches across four different locations.
The Lions are the greatest touring rugby team in the world. Their journey in 2021 will be a special one.
In 2009, The Lions lost the Test series 2-1 but following their series draw against New Zealand in 2017, will have high hopes of repeating the victory in 1997.
