Collection: British and Irish Lions Rugby Union
The British & Irish Lions is a rugby union team selected from players eligible for the national teams of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (sometimes known as the Home Nations). The Lions are a Test side and most often select players who have already played for their national team, but they can pick uncapped players who are eligible to any one of the four unions. The team currently tours every four years, with these rotating between Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in order. The most recent Test series, the 2017 series against New Zealand, was drawn 1-1 (with one match drawn).
The British & Irish Lions toured South Africa in 2021 losing the test series narrowly
The British and Irish Lions have just kicked off their 2025 tour of Australia! After a tough opening loss to Argentina in Dublin, they’re now on Aussie soil, starting with a match against the Western Force in Perth on 28 June2.
This tour includes nine matches, culminating in a three-Test series against the Wallabies. The first Test is set for 19 July, with the others on 26 July and 2 August
